"What makes a good if not excellent pipe maker. The traits would include an eye for detail, creativity, patience & not being afraid to admit their mistakes. What I like about Big Boy Pipes is that Turner is not afraid to experiment with different woods & stem mediums. No 2 of his pipes are alike. He uses different stains for different outcomes, and varies the bowl shapes from pipe to pipe. What you get is a true heirloom pipe, one that you enjoy taking out for a stroll & lighting it up. Getting a nod from other pipe men. He makes quality that you are proud to add to your rotation. I say give him a try. I have 1 & plan on commissioning more. That’s how much I like his work as well as Turner as an individual."
